Since moving to Manchester I have been welcomed with open arms at Badger & Combes. I have been offered many opportunities to work on meaningful projects and my skills have been improving since day one. I have also had the chance to meet many talented people along the way who have helped to develop my career goals.
Originally from an audio background, I have transitioned into wildlife film. I have a great interest in conservation and wildlife filmmaking, and spend a lot of time raising awareness for marine charities. Lover of plants and macro filming.
Badger and Combes has helped me to grow as a person, and as a professional and I am looking forward to seeing what projects come next.
Salford, since I’ve moved here one year ago, has always been a place of which I have been drawn to. With a diverse array of people, and businesses, it is fantastic working in an ever changing environment with new opportunities every single day within digital media and film. MediaCityUK has shown me what it is like to work in a professional workplace, with a variety of platforms for digital media, and allowing creators to showcase their talents. Salford has given me the opportunity to work with a multitude of creatives and artists, which has been of great value to me.
Working with Badger and Combes is special, in regard to talent engagement with industry, because it has allowed me to work with different people across Salford and Greater Manchester. I have come across people I would never have had the opportunity to work with, by being part of this amazing team. Badger and Combes has allowed me to put myself forward to work with incredibly talented people in a variety of different expertise. Artists, performers, creators, dancers, DJ’s, poets, musicians, and festivals are just a few, of many, different people I have had the privilege of working with. Talent engagement within industry has been varied and exiting while working for this company.
It is my belief that it is vital to use digital communications to tell stories these days, especially in Covid-19 times, in order to raise moral and wellbeing. Streaming stories allows those that are staying at home and shielding to be involved in events whilst being safe. Not only is it relevant during the pandemic, but digital media has a limitless outreach meaning that special stories are able to appeal to the masses and raise awareness for the causes they are outlining. Digital media is a powerful tool and providing that consumers have the capabilities to get online, they are accessible to the masses from any networkable device, meaning that nobody has to miss out.
I was proud to work with United We Stream because of the diverse content that they offered on a regular basis. Never have I been able to work for a company where there was a Jazz Festival one night and HomoElectric the next. United We Stream has a broad target audience wherein there is something for everybody. This all-inclusive live streaming project was a joy to work on because no event was the same. I had the opportunity to work with different performers, with all different empowering and uplifting messages, trying to improve the lives of those remaining at home. In my eyes working on projects with United We Stream has broadened my ideas about what we are capable of doing with digital media and has allowed me to think outside the box in terms of storytelling.
My passion lies within wildlife filming and conservation. I have always felt the desire to educate and entertain the public about our natural world and the complicated ecosystems that live within it. It is my belief that the general public need to become more aware of what is happening to our planet on a daily basis and what they can do in order to help it. Being a digital media leader can mean something different to everybody. To me this is somebody who has the capabilities to produce moving and compelling stories in order to change the masses perspective on a particular subject. I believe that I have been able to do this working with Badger and Combes and United We Stream using platforms, such as Instagram and Twitter in order to advertise the stories being streamed.
