I love directing and vision mixing. Having creative control over how a production looks and flows is an exciting part of my job.

  Being so close to and connected to both the large institutions of the BBC, ITV etc and the smaller independent companies makes working in the heart of Salford feel as important as the centre of London in regard to digital media production. The make-up of Badger & Combes as a whole means industry practitioners like myself are working side by side with new entrants and talented students to deliver every project. This close working relationship allows for great passage of skills and ideas between all parties involved. In today's society everything is digital so in order to effectively tell stories or even reach the intended audiences a digital first approach has to be adopted in order to make the desired impact. 

In relation to the GMCA and the United We Stream project, we took a problem and turned it into an opportunity for good; allowing money to be raised for the people who needed it most, keeping people entertained in a particularly troubling time and distributing the important messaging of the time. 

Personally, I'm the boring one of the team who has a passion for organisation, logistics and keeping everyone safe on set which I use to my advantage for both production and creative roles to maintain balance in the team. As a company Badger & Combes are trying to be at the forefront of any new emerging tech and digital media devices, with the team as a whole adopting an open mindset to any new ways of working. This helps us lead from the front on any projects with new and existing partners.
