Rachel Bibby

My passion lies in Wildlife filmmaking and my favourite wildlife experience to date is working with endangered sea turtles in Bali. I am currently completing my Master’s in Wildlife Documentary Production alongside working at Badger & Combes.

Salford, and MediaCityUK in particular, has the unique quality of making you feel like you are in a busy and exciting city centre, whilst at the same time providing a sense of community and inclusiveness that other cities tend to lack. 

The overall goal of Badger & Combes is to be a talent pathway into industry, and I am a living embodiment of that goal as B&C has given me opportunities that I would not have gotten from other places in this industry. Not only have they welcomed me to be part of the team, but they have also made sure that I am not just a runner, but instead allow me to find my role by testing and enhancing my skills. After every day with B&C I am left with new knowledge about this industry and feeling more confident about being a part of it. 

The point of telling any story is to have people hear it. 

The best way to reach people in this day and age is through digital means. I am extremely proud to have been a part of United We Stream and all of its projects, both past and ongoing. My pride for being part of this team stems not only from the vast amount of money that was raised for deserving charities, but from the sense of community and togetherness that we were able to create in a time of great uncertainty. 

I am passionate about many things, wildlife and the environment being the main ones. Something that I am passionate about achieving is utilising the power of media to spread stories about the natural world.  As part of the Badger & Combes team I feel like I am a digital media leader as we are at the forefront of using existing technology in new and innovative ways. We are adaptable to any situation and took the lead in streaming technology during lockdown.
